THE National Council for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (NACTVET) has officially announced the opening of admissions for Certificate and Diploma programmes for the 2026/2027 academic year, while warning applicants to remain cautious and protect their personal information from fraudsters.

Speaking in Dodoma on May 28, 2026 during a public announcement, the Executive Secretary of NACTVET, Dr. Mwajuma Lingwanda, said the first admission window has officially opened today and will close on July 10, 2026.

She said the admission exercise covers all programmes supervised by the council, adding that NACTVET is fully prepared to ensure the process is transparent, fair and provides equal opportunities to all qualified applicants across the country.

According to Dr. Lingwanda, two different application systems will be used depending on the type of programme and geographical location.

“Applications for Health and Allied Sciences programmes in Mainland Tanzania will be submitted digitally through the Central Admission System (CAS) available on our official website,” she said.

She further explained that applications for non-health programmes nationwide, as well as Health and Allied Sciences programmes offered by institutions in Zanzibar, should be submitted directly to the respective colleges and institutions from today until July 10, 2026.

In another development, Dr. Lingwanda issued a strong warning against fraud and interference during the admission process, urging applicants to complete their applications personally and avoid sharing sensitive information with others.

“It is important for every applicant to personally participate in the entire application process, provide accurate information and keep their registered phone numbers private to avoid unnecessary inconveniences,” she emphasized.

She noted that successful applicants will receive an SMS message from NACTVET containing a confidential code that must be presented to their respective institutions during registration.

After registration, students will also be required to verify their information through the ‘Student’s Information Verification’ section available on the council’s website.

Dr. Lingwanda also advised applicants and the public to download the Admission Guidebook for Academic Year 2026/2027 from the council’s website in order to access accurate information about registered institutions and the programmes they offer.

Meanwhile, NACTVET has directed all colleges and institutions across the country to fully comply with the council’s laws, regulations and guidelines throughout the admission process in order to safeguard the quality of technical and vocational education in Tanzania.
