Tanzanian professional boxer Salehe Kassim is set to arrive in the country tomorrow after delivering a statement victory in England, where he knocked out previously unbeaten Jimmy Lee in a high-stakes title bout over the weekend.

Kassim stopped Lee in the fourth round of a scheduled 10-round championship contest, capping a dominant display that underlined his growing credentials on the international stage.

The fight, held on Saturday, marked a turning point for the Tanzanian fighter as he dismantled an opponent who had entered the ring with a flawless 14-fight record.

Speaking to The Respondent Online, Kassim credited the victory to the support and prayers of Tanzanians and Zanzibaris, saying the backing gave him strength to perform and proudly represent the national flag abroad.

“It was a tough fight. My opponent was very strong and experienced, and he had beaten many fighters before, including Tanzanians,” said Kassim.

“I thank God for this win. I have achieved what I came for, and I’m now heading back home. If all goes well, I will be in Dar es Salaam tomorrow.”he added

He added that, despite the emphatic result, the bout exposed key areas for improvement as he continues to refine his craft ahead of future contests.

The victory is being hailed as a major step forward in Kassim’s professional journey, positioning him for bigger international opportunities and strengthening his case for more lucrative and high-profile title fights.

With momentum now on his side, Kassim’s latest triumph not only elevates his standing in the boxing world but also raises hopes for Tanzania’s growing presence in the global professional boxing arena.
