Employees of the Mining Commission have been urged to strengthen professionalism, accountability and unity in order to sustain institutional gains and boost the mining sector’s contribution to national economic growth.

Speaking during regional International Workers’ Day celebrations held at Jamhuri Grounds in Dodoma, the Commission’s Director of Human Resources and Administration, Nsajigwa Kabigi, said the progress achieved so far must be protected through greater commitment, discipline and responsibility among staff.

Kabigi delivered a message on behalf of the Commission’s Executive Secretary, Engineer Ramadhani Lwamo, who commended employees stationed in Dodoma, those who took part in national celebrations in Njombe Region, and staff serving across various mining regions for their continued dedication to duty.

He emphasized the importance of teamwork and cohesion, noting that sustained unity and hard work are key to maintaining the Commission’s strong performance and reputation.

The Mining Commission, he said, has continued to register solid results in executing its mandate, particularly in government revenue collection from the mining sector.

He stressed that every employee has a responsibility to ensure the institution remains at the forefront of revenue mobilisation and sector oversight.

Kabigi further assured workers that employers remain committed to safeguarding employees’ rights, while calling on staff to discharge their duties with integrity, professionalism and diligence in line with national development priorities.

The Dodoma May Day event featured a workers’ procession from the Parliament Grounds to Jamhuri Grounds, where participants were officially received by Dodoma Regional Commissioner Rosemary Senyamule.
