Women urged to prepare spiritually for effective and purposeful prayer in Dodoma

Women have been urged to ensure thorough spiritual and mental preparation before engaging in prayer so as to make their prayers effective, focused, and capable of producing meaningful responses aligned with their needs.

The call was made in Dodoma by the Founder and President of Global Women Ministry Africa (GLOWMA), Apostle Prof. Margareth Kilimali, during the second day of the first women’s conference held under the theme “A Special Calling for Women: Collective Ministry in Unity, Solidarity, Love, and Peace.”

The conference brought together women from different backgrounds to reflect on spiritual growth, leadership, and collective service in society.

Prof. Kilimali emphasized that effective prayer is not a casual act but a disciplined spiritual exercise that requires clear intention and readiness of heart and mind before presenting requests before God.

She explained that believers must first understand what they are praying for and align their thoughts and spirit before entering into prayer, noting that lack of preparation often weakens the impact of prayers.

“Prayer is not something to be done casually. A person must prepare, understand themselves, and know exactly what they are presenting before God. Without preparation, many prayers lack impact,” she said.

She further highlighted that the principle of effectiveness extends beyond prayer into all aspects of life, including economic and social activities.

Drawing practical examples, Prof. Kilimali said fields such as entrepreneurship, agriculture, healthcare, and education all require preparation, discipline, and commitment in order to achieve meaningful results.

“It does not matter what you do whether you are a farmer, entrepreneur, doctor, teacher, or pastor all these are services to society. And every service requires preparation to produce meaningful results,” she noted.

She added that just as success in daily work depends on planning and effort, spiritual growth and answered prayers are also strengthened by preparation and intentional living.

Prof. Kilimali concluded by urging participants to embrace a lifestyle of preparation both in prayer and in their daily responsibilities, saying this would enable them to achieve personal success and contribute positively to society.
