Simba started the match strongly and managed to break the deadlock in the 25th minute through midfielder Selemani Mwalimu, who calmly converted a chance to give the hosts an early advantage.
The home side continued to dominate possession and create scoring opportunities. Their efforts paid off again in stoppage time of the first half when defender Ismael Toure doubled the lead in the 45+2 minute, sending Simba into the break with a comfortable 2–0 cushion.
After the restart, Coastal Union attempted to fight back and increased their attacking pressure in search of a goal.
The visitors created a few promising moves but lacked precision in front of goal, allowing Simba’s defense to maintain control.
