Former 2025 presidential candidate through CHAUMMA and Deputy Secretary General of CHADEMA (Zanzibar wing), Salum Mwalimu, has expressed strong confidence in the commission led by Judge Chande, which is investigating incidents of unrest that occurred during and after the 2025 General Election.
Mwalimu said the commission represents a crucial national process aimed at uncovering the truth and addressing grievances linked to the election period. He noted that the inquiry belongs to all Tanzanians, as it seeks to heal the social and political wounds that emerged from the reported disturbances.
He emphasized the need for broad support from stakeholders to ensure the credibility and effectiveness of the commission’s work, adding that a transparent process will help deliver justice to those affected.
Mwalimu also highlighted the importance of national reconciliation once the commission concludes its investigations, stating that its findings should serve as a foundation for rebuilding public trust, strengthening unity, and promoting lasting peace and stability across the country.
