The Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ngwaru Maghembe, on April 23, 2026, received copies of letters of credence from Ghana’s Ambassador-designate to Tanzania, Paul Evans Aidoo, at the ministry’s sub-office in Dar es Salaam.
Dr Maghembe received the documents on behalf of the Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation and congratulated Mr Aidoo on his appointment, reaffirming Tanzania’s commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations with Ghana across key areas of development.
He noted that Tanzania and Ghana share a long-standing history of friendly relations dating back to Africa’s liberation struggles, and said both countries are now focused on expanding cooperation in sectors such as industry and youth employment for the mutual benefit of their citizens.
On his part, Mr Aidoo pledged to work closely with the Government of Tanzania to fully utilise existing opportunities to advance the prosperity of both nations.
He highlighted priority areas including trade and investment, agriculture, energy, natural resources, mining and tourism.
The presentation of copies of credentials marks an important diplomatic step ahead of the ambassador’s formal accreditation, paving the way for deeper bilateral engagement between the two countries.
