Azam FC delivered a commanding second-half performance to defeat JKT Tanzania 3-0 in the NBC Premier League, strengthening their push in the title race.
The match, played on April 17, 2026, at Azam Complex in Chamazi, Dar es Salaam, saw the hosts turn dominance into goals after a tightly contested first half ended goalless.
Azam showed early intent but were repeatedly denied by a disciplined JKT Tanzania defence before the break. However, the hosts returned from halftime with renewed energy and sharpness, quickly breaking the deadlock in the 48th minute.
Striker Jéphte Kitambala finished off a swift attacking move with composure, giving Azam a deserved lead.
The goal shifted momentum firmly in Azam’s favour as they increased pressure and tempo. Midfielder Iddy Nado extended the lead in the 56th minute, capitalising on space inside the box to slot home.
Just four minutes later, Nado struck again, completing his brace in the 60th minute with a clinical finish that effectively sealed the contest.
JKT Tanzania struggled to respond to the surge, failing to create clear chances as Azam controlled possession and dictated the pace of the game in the closing stages.
The final whistle confirmed a comprehensive 3-0 victory for Azam, earning them three vital points at home and reinforcing their position among the league’s top contenders.
