The Ramadhan Stars Basketball League is set to resume today at the Don Bosco Oyster Bay courts in Dar es Salaam, promising exciting action for both men’s and women’s teams.

The league’s first round will run on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. Men’s teams will compete to qualify for the second phase, while women’s teams will play in a league format, with the top two teams advancing to the final showdown.

Today’s men’s fixtures include Kings facing Bull, followed by Mambo taking on Bad Nation. In the women’s category, Tuku will clash with Bangala.

Other scheduled matches feature Lipiku against Bull and Mambo versus Soudy Back. On Saturday, Jesca Ngisaise will take on Mahewa, while Lipiku will meet Miyasi.

Speaking to The Respondent Online, tournament coordinator Yusuph Mohamed highlighted the growing competitiveness of the league, noting that teams and players are improving rapidly.

“Competition is intensifying day by day. Players are showcasing more skills, which raises the league’s overall quality and excitement for fans,” Mohamed said.

He added that this season, unlike the first one, spectators are paying to attend matches. This not only brings in revenue but also provides players with a platform to demonstrate their talent and gain recognition.

Mohamed urged fans to continue attending and supporting the teams, saying that strong crowd support helps boost morale and intensifies the competition, making the league more exciting for everyone.
