The President of Zanzibar and Chairman of the Revolutionary Council, Hussein Ali Mwinyi, has reaffirmed the government’s strong commitment to improving citizens’ livelihoods by developing the aviation sector and expanding digital public services.

During a meeting held at the State House on March 26, 2026, President Mwinyi welcomed a delegation from Liaoning Fangda Group of Companies, led by Chairman Ao Xinhua

The discussions focused on strengthening investment cooperation in key sectors that can directly benefit the people of Zanzibar.

President Mwinyi emphasized that such partnerships are not only about economic growth but also about creating jobs, improving infrastructure, and opening up new opportunities for local communities.

He assured the delegation that Zanzibar is ready to work closely with investors who are committed to supporting inclusive and sustainable development.

He highlighted that improving the aviation sector is especially important for citizens, as it will boost tourism, increase employment opportunities, and enhance connectivity.

A stronger aviation industry means more business for local entrepreneurs, better transport options, and increased national revenue that can be reinvested in public services.

In a separate meeting, the President met with leaders from the Business and Property Registration Agency (BPRA) Zanzibar, led by CEO Khamis Juma Khamis, alongside experts from Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).

The discussions centered on improving digital systems for business and property registration. President Mwinyi stressed that modern, user-friendly digital services will make it easier and faster for citizens to register businesses, access services, and participate in the formal economy.

He noted that digital transformation will reduce bureaucracy, increase transparency, and empower citizens especially young people and entrepreneurs by giving them easier access to government services.

President Mwinyi reaffirmed that all these efforts are aimed at building a stronger, more inclusive Zanzibar where development benefits every citizen.
