The meeting took place at the ministry’s sub-offices in Dar es Salaam and brought together senior officials from key regulatory and operational bodies responsible for managing petroleum and natural gas activities in the country.

Among those who attended the meeting were the Permanent Secretary responsible for Petroleum and Gas at the Ministry of Energy, James Mataragio, Petroleum Commissioner Goodluck Shirima, Director General of the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA) James Mwainyekule and the Chief Executive Officer of the Tanzania Petroleum Development Corporation (TPDC) Mussa Makame.

The Acting Chief Executive Officer of the Petroleum Bulk Procurement Agency (PBPA), Bruno Tarimo, also attended the meeting alongside technical experts from the ministry and the respective institutions.

The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation among institutions responsible for the oil and gas sub-sector, with the aim of improving oversight, transparency and efficiency in the execution of their responsibilities.

Officials said the engagement was intended to ensure that institutions under the ministry work in a more coordinated manner in implementing government policies and strategies aimed at developing the petroleum and natural gas sector.
