In a gesture marking the upcoming International Women’s Day, staff from the Mbeya District Council visited Mbeya District Hospital in Inyala to donate essential items for women and children admitted to the wards.
The contributions included sanitary pads, soap, cooking oil, sugar, drinking water, and dental medicines.
The initiative aims to provide comfort and practical support to mothers and children receiving care at the hospital during this special period.
Speaking during the visit, Abdul Yahaya, Coordinator of the Gender and Children’s Desk in Mbeya District, emphasized that the donation reflects the council’s commitment to solidarity, social equality, and recognition of women’s vital contributions to community development.
The Mbeya District Council will join the global community in celebrating International Women’s Day on March 8, 2026, under the theme: “Rights for Women and Girls: The Foundation for Inclusive Development Towards Vision 2025.”
