“Every person has their time in this world, and this tragic accident reminds us of life’s fragility. Justin Ngumee made a lasting impact in this community, and his absence will be deeply felt,” he said.
Simanjiro CCM Chairman Kiria Ormemei Laizer described Ngumee as a committed and selfless leader whose guidance touched both political and traditional spheres.
“Ngumee was a leader of the people long before his passing. On the morning of his death, a significant earthquake occurred. Elders said that such an event requires the presence of a great leader, and Ngumee’s influence was recognized even in these traditions,” Laizer said.
District Administrative Secretary Warda Abeid Maulid encouraged the community to pray for Ngumee’s peaceful rest, emphasizing that he had completed his journey on Earth.
“We thank God for everything, for He organizes all matters. We are merely His servants. May His name be glorified,” she said.
Retired Simanjiro MP Christopher Ole Sendeka noted that the funeral brought the community together in unprecedented numbers, transcending political, tribal, religious, and social divisions.
“Looking at the crowds, it was clear that Ngumee’s life united people from all walks of life. His legacy will continue to inspire this community,” Ole Sendeka said.
Kaleiya District Council Chairperson Melita Mollel joined other leaders in offering condolences and comfort to Ngumee’s family.
