The finals of the Dar es Salaam Regional Open Boxing Championship are set to electrify CCM Mwinjuma Mwananyamala Hall tomorrow, March 28, as top fighters in each weight category vie for the championship title.
The event will bring together the city’s best male and female boxers, showcasing skill, determination, and emerging talent from across the region.
Juma Awesu, Vice Chairman of the Dar es Salaam Boxing Association (DABA), told The Respondent Online that preparations for the grand finale are complete and organizers expect a fiercely competitive showdown.
“These championships have revealed remarkable talent, with every weight category fiercely contested, signaling that tomorrow’s champions will be of the highest standard,” Awesu said.
He added, “This is an individual competition, and winners will be awarded medals. Meanwhile, our panel of coaches and referees is carefully selecting boxers who will form the Dar es Salaam regional team for upcoming national competitions.”
In the semifinals on March 27, standout boxers advancing to the finals included Iddy Ally of Urafiki, who won by TKO against Ridhiwani Saidi of JKT; Muhsini Hassan of JKT, who also secured a TKO victory over Omari Mohamed of Urafiki; and Check Noris of Magereza, who defeated Baraka Mamba on points.
The championship is expected to serve as a vital platform for discovering and nurturing emerging boxing talent that will proudly represent Dar es Salaam at the national level.
