In celebration of International Women’s Day, Akiba Commercial Bank Plc hosted a special engagement event in Dar es Salaam; 06/03/2026, bringing together female entrepreneurs served by the Bank from its various branches across the city.
The event formed part of the Bank’s Lady Entrepreneur Campaign, an initiative aimed at strengthening relationships with women customers while promoting financial empowerment and business growth.
Speaking during the engagement, the Bank’s Chief Commercial Officer, M/s Wezi Mwazani, highlighted the important role women play in economic development and community transformation.
She emphasized that women entrepreneurs remain a key focus for the Bank as it continues to expand financial inclusion and support the growth of small and medium-sized businesses. She further explained that the Bank is committed to providing financial solutions designed to meet the needs of women at different stages of their business journey.
“Women entrepreneurs continue to demonstrate resilience and innovation in business. At Akiba Commercial Bank, we are committed to supporting women with financial solutions, knowledge, and opportunities that help them grow their businesses and improve their livelihoods,” she said.

During the engagement, customers expressed appreciation for the support extended by the Bank through its financial services and advisory initiatives.

Some entrepreneurs also highlighted that the support received has helped them contribute more actively to community development and job creation, demonstrating the broader impact of empowering women in business.
The engagement in Dar es Salaam brought together female customers from several branches across the city, reflecting the Bank’s commitment to strengthening relationships with its customers while gaining deeper insights into their experiences and evolving financial needs.
The Bank also indicated that this initiative marks the beginning of broader outreach activities under the Lady Entrepreneur Campaign, through which similar engagements will be extended to customers in other regions where the Bank operates.
