Tanzanian football giants Yanga SC and Simba SC are set to play crucial African Champions League matches tomorrow, traveling to Morocco and Angola, respectively.
Yanga will take on FAR Rabat in Morocco, while Simba will face Petro Atletico in Angola. Both teams enter the fixtures as visitors, aiming to secure results that will strengthen their chances of advancing to the next stage of the continental tournament.
Speaking ahead of the match, Yanga Executive Committee member Rogers Gumbo said the team is fully prepared and morale among players is high.
He noted that preparations have been thorough, with the technical bench developing strategies to ensure positive results away from home.
“Players understand the importance of this game and are ready to give their all for the full 90 minutes,” Gumbo emphasized.
Meanwhile, Simba’s Media and Communications Manager, Ahmed Ally, acknowledged that the team’s chances of progressing remain slim but stressed that the squad remains determined to fight until the final whistle.
“The team has trained hard, and our aim is to achieve positive results against Petro Atletico. Despite the challenges, we arrived in Angola early to maximize our preparations,” Ally said.
Simba captain Shomari Kapombe called on Tanzanian supporters in Angola and around the world to continue backing the team with prayers and encouragement.
He stressed that the players are committed to delivering positive results, starting with tomorrow’s match.
“These competitions are part of our preparations for the league and other upcoming tournaments. We are determined to perform well from the first whistle,” Kapombe said.
