The Tanzania Trade Development Authority (TanTrade) has officially kicked off preparations for the 50th edition of the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair (DITF 2026), popularly known as Sabasaba, with the launch of a new digital registration platform for exhibitors.

The event, held at the Mwalimu Julius Nyerere Fair Grounds in Dar es Salaam, brought together key stakeholders from government, the private sector, and development partners, signaling the start of activities toward the Golden Jubilee of Tanzania’s premier trade exhibition.

Addressing the gathering, TanTrade Director General Dr. Latifa Mohammed Khamis announced that the 2026 fair will be held under the theme “Sabasaba – Pride of Tanzania,” alongside the messages “Tanzanian Products Going More Global” and “More Digital Trade Services.” Dr. Khamis highlighted that the milestone edition will emphasize technology, efficiency, and improved service delivery for both exhibitors and visitors.

She explained that the new digital registration system enables exhibitors to register online, apply for exhibition space, obtain identification cards, make payments, and access essential information without visiting TanTrade offices.

The system is designed to simplify procedures, reduce congestion, and enhance transparency and convenience for both local and international participants.

“The digital transformation of our registration process aligns with Tanzania’s broader national agenda for digital trade promotion, positioning Sabasaba as a modern, globally competitive exhibition platform,” Dr. Khamis said.

The introduction of the digital system forms part of comprehensive preparations to celebrate 50 years of the Dar es Salaam International Trade Fair, which has been instrumental in promoting Tanzanian products, services, and investment opportunities since its inception.

DITF 2026 is expected to draw a significant number of exhibitors and visitors from across Tanzania and beyond, leveraging the Golden Jubilee to showcase the country’s trade potential and strengthen its presence in regional and global markets.
