After an early exit from the CAF competitions, Simba Sports Club has announced a strategic shift, now focusing entirely on domestic football, including the NBC Tanzania Premier League and the Tanzania FA Cup, in a bid to secure silverware and salvage the season.
The move follows Simba’s failure to advance in continental tournaments, prompting club officials and the technical bench to reassess the squad’s priorities and redirect efforts toward the remaining domestic fixtures.
Ahmed Ally, Simba’s Media and Communications Manager, said the team has already entered intensive camp preparations ahead of upcoming matches, starting with the Premier League clash against KMC on February 11 at the KMC Complex in Dar es Salaam.
He emphasized that training sessions are aimed at improving tactical discipline, enhancing squad fitness, and correcting weaknesses exposed during the CAF matches.
“We may be out of CAF, but our ambitions remain high. Our goal is to finish the season with trophies. That is why we have reorganized and are concentrating fully on the Premier League and the FA Cup,” Ally said.
He added that Simba aims to compete fiercely in both competitions and hopes to lift at least one trophy this season.
“I call on our fans to fill the stands and give the team their full support. Simba is stronger than ever and needs the energy and encouragement of our supporters to achieve our targets,” he concluded.
