More than 100 investment service providers have completed a specialised training programme aimed at improving professionalism, accountability and the quality of services offered to investors, as Tanzania steps up efforts to strengthen its investment climate.
The training, held on February 20, 2026, in Dar es Salaam, was organised by the Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) and brought together professionals who play a critical role in facilitating investment projects across the country.
Opening the programme, TISEZA Director General Gilead Teri said investment remains a key driver of economic growth and national development.
He noted that attracting and sustaining quality investment is essential for job creation, expansion of business activities and increased government revenue.
“Investment is not a choice but a foundation for national prosperity. It supports employment, strengthens business linkages and contributes directly to improved livelihoods,” Mr Teri said.
He urged investment service providers to maintain high standards of professionalism and adhere strictly to ethical principles when serving investors.
According to him, participants in the training were selected after meeting established professional and integrity criteria, adding that the authority would take firm action against any service provider found breaching ethical or professional standards.
Mr Teri also emphasised the importance of conducting comprehensive feasibility studies, particularly in assessing the financial viability and expected returns of investment projects.
He said well-prepared feasibility studies provide accurate data and detailed analysis that help investors make informed decisions, while also reducing risks associated with project implementation.
Such studies, he added, play a vital role in identifying competitive investment opportunities and enhancing confidence among financial institutions and other stakeholders involved in project financing.
During the training, participants were taken through key aspects of Tanzania’s investment framework, including investment laws and regulations, available opportunities and incentives, and best practices in delivering efficient and investor-friendly services.
The sessions were facilitated by experts from relevant sectors with practical experience in investment promotion, regulation and project facilitation.
At the conclusion of the programme, participants were awarded certificates officially recognising them as accredited investment service providers.
The certification is expected to improve coordination between investors and service providers, reduce procedural bottlenecks and enhance the overall ease of doing business.
The trained service providers include professionals in standards and quality assurance, land administration, as well as business and legal advisory services.
Strengthening their capacity, TISEZA said, is part of a broader strategy to ensure investors receive timely, reliable and professional support throughout the investment process.
The initiative reflects ongoing government efforts to improve service delivery in the investment sector and position Tanzania as a competitive and dependable destination for both domestic and foreign investment
