On February 14, 2026, the Minister of Energy, Deogratius Ndejembi, handed over transport vehicles to TANESCO managers from Skonge, Urambo, and Igunga districts in Tabora Region.
The initiative is aimed at improving service delivery and ensuring that customer concerns are addressed quickly and efficiently.
During the handover in Urambo, Ndejembi commended TANESCO Managing Director, Mr. Lazaro Twange, for taking swift action to guarantee that citizens receive electricity services regardless of where they are located.
He explained that this initiative reflects the vision of President Samia Suluhu Hassan for efficient public service.
With these vehicles, TANESCO is better positioned to reach customers promptly and provide reliable electricity to over 5.6 million people nationwide.
The Minister also encouraged TANESCO staff to use the vehicles to strengthen customer service, emphasizing the importance of listening to citizens and responding to their needs without delay.
Mr. Twange noted that TANESCO has already received 120 vehicles, including trucks and smaller cars, with additional large cranes and 51 more vehicles ready for deployment across the country.
In Tabora, five of these vehicles have already been assigned to enhance local service. He added that TANESCO is committed to ensuring that every customer is served efficiently, using these new vehicles to respond quickly to service requests and challenges.
This development highlights TANESCO’s continued dedication to improving electricity services and making life easier for citizens across Tanzania.
