Mineral indicative prices for February 19,2026

According to the latest information from the Mining Commission of Tanzania, the indicative prices for gold and silver have been updated for both local and global markets. This summary highlights the current trading environment for these precious metals.

The world market price of gold stands at $5,018.30 per troy ounce, which translates to approximately 417,698.23 TZS per gram

Silver is priced at $78.29 per troy ounce, equivalent to 6,516.47 TZS per gram. On the local mineral market, gold trades at around 375,928.41 TZS per gram, while silver is valued at 5,864.82 TZS per gram

At authorized buying centers, the prices are slightly lower, with gold at 367,574.44 TZS per gram and silver at 5,734.49 TZS per gram.

The difference between the world market price and the local buying center price is significant. For gold, the local buying price is approximately 12% lower than the global TZS equivalent, reflecting factors such as refining costs, royalties, and local levies.

The high gold price, exceeding $5,000 per troy ounce, indicates a strong market environment for early 2026.

To estimate the value of your minerals, multiply the weight in grams by the buying center price in TZS per gram.

These prices are indicative and provided by the Mining Commission of Tanzania to guide transactions at authorized mineral markets and buying centers. Actual prices may vary depending on negotiation, purity, and local market conditions.
