Magdalena Shauri claims Bronze at RAK Half Marathon

Tanzanian long-distance runner Magdalena Shauri delivered a remarkable performance by securing the bronze medal in the women’s 21-kilometer race at the prestigious Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon, held on February 14, 2026, in Ras Al Khaimah, United Arab Emirates.

The globally acclaimed event brought together elite runners from across the world, producing fierce competition and world-class finishing times. 

Competing against a strong international field, Shauri demonstrated exceptional endurance and tactical discipline throughout the race.

She crossed the finish line in third place with a personal best time of 1:07:32, marking a significant milestone in her career. 

The new PB not only reflects her steady improvement but also confirms her growing presence among the world’s top road runners.

The Ras Al Khaimah Half Marathon is widely regarded as one of the fastest and most competitive half marathons globally, regularly attracting top-tier athletes and producing outstanding performances. 

Against this backdrop, Shauri’s podium finish stands out as a major achievement for both the athlete and Tanzania.

The result represents an important step forward as Shauri looks ahead to upcoming major international competitions. 

It highlights the effectiveness of her training program, consistency in preparation, and determination to continue representing Tanzania with pride on the global stage.

In the men’s race, Tanzania also recorded commendable performances. Benjamini Fernand finished seventh with an impressive time of 59:56, while Mao Hhando secured tenth place after clocking 1:00:20, underscoring Tanzania’s growing competitiveness in international road racing.
