Katavi Region shines in investment promotion seminar

By The Respondents Reporter

Katavi Region has embraced the national drive to boost investment in Tanzania’s Southern Highlands and Western regions, hosting a high-profile seminar aimed at equipping citizens, entrepreneurs, and businesspeople with knowledge of investment opportunities.

The event, organized by the Tanzania Investment Centre (TISEZA), took place at the Regional Commissioner’s office hall in Mpanda and attracted over 100 stakeholders.

Opening the seminar, Katavi Regional Commissioner, Ms. Mwanamvua Hoza Mrindiko, highlighted the region’s strategic location, bordering the Democratic Republic of Congo, Burundi, and Zambia.

She noted Katavi’s vast potential in agriculture, livestock, tourism, and mining, coupled with a welcoming investment environment.

“Investment education must continue to reach every citizen. Awareness is key to changing mindsets and encouraging people to seize the opportunities that exist right here at home,” she said.

TISEZA Chairman, Mr. Aziz Apolinary Mlima, emphasized that investment is not only for foreigners. “Our goal is to show Tanzanians that they too can invest and contribute to the country’s economic growth,” he said.

In line with President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s directive to bring services closer to citizens, TISEZA officially launched an Investment Desk at the Katavi Regional Commissioner’s office.

The new desk will provide easy access to investment services within the region, eliminating the need for residents to seek support outside Katavi.

The seminar reflects Katavi’s growing role as a hub for investment in Tanzania, signaling opportunities for local entrepreneurs and investors to tap into the region’s rich resources.
