Minister of Finance, Ambassador Khamis Mussa Omar (MP), has chaired a virtual meeting with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to review the implementation of major government programs supporting economic growth and climate resilience.
The meeting focused on the Extended Credit Facility (ECF) program, valued at USD 1.1 billion, which provides affordable financing to strengthen the country’s productive sectors and social services.
Officials also assessed the Resilient and Sustainable Fund (RSF), worth USD 786.2 million, aimed at helping Tanzania address the effects of climate change.
Deputy Minister of Finance, Eng. Mshamu Ali Munde (MP), Acting Permanent Secretary Mr. Elijah Mwandumbya, IMF team leader Mr. Nicolas Blancher, Assistant Commissioner of Policy Mr. Mbayani Saruni, and other senior officials from the Ministry of Finance and IMF participated in the meeting.
The discussions underscored continued cooperation between the government and IMF to ensure effective program implementation, contributing to sustainable development and long-term economic stability in Tanzania.
