ACT Wazalendo Chairman visits Pemba to strengthen party unity and infrastructure

The National Chairman of ACT Wazalendo, Mr. Othman Masoud Othman, arrived on Pemba Island today for a high-profile visit aimed at consolidating the party’s structures and building stronger bonds between members and leaders across all levels.

Mr. Othman was welcomed at Karume Airport by thousands of party members and supporters, who greeted him with cheers, drumming, and traditional dances a clear demonstration of the strong confidence and loyalty the party enjoys in Zanzibar.


He was accompanied by the Zanzibar Deputy Chairman of ACT Wazalendo, Mr. Ismail Jussa, Deputy Secretary-General Mr. Omar Ali Shehe, and Mrs. Zainab Kombo Shaib, among other senior party officials.

During his visit, Mr. Othman is scheduled to hold two strategic meetings with party leaders. The first is set for tomorrow at 9:00 a.m. in the South Region, while the second will take place on 12 February in Wete, North Region.

In addition, on 14 February, he will lay the foundation stone for a new ACT Wazalendo branch in Wingwi Mapofu. 


The initiative is part of broader efforts to strengthen the party’s infrastructure and expand its political activities across the island.

“This visit is crucial for reinforcing our party’s foundations, improving communication between leadership and members, and advancing our democratic agenda for the benefit of Tanzanians,” Mr. Othman said during his arrival.

The Pemba tour reflects ACT Wazalendo’s ongoing strategy to build internal cohesion, enhance member engagement, and promote inclusive politics in Zanzibar.
