As Tanzania approaches 100 days since President Samia Suluhu Hassan was sworn in for her second term, citizens have continued to express appreciation for her firm, people-centred leadership, with peace, stability and inclusive development cited as key hallmarks of her administration.

Residents of Arusha Region are among those who have commended the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces for her courage and decisiveness in safeguarding national unity while addressing long-standing challenges affecting wananchi.

Speaking in Arusha City, Mr Hussein Khalifa said President Samia has demonstrated exceptional leadership in protecting peace, which he described as Tanzania’s most valuable national asset and a foundation for development.

“Our Commander-in-Chief, Dr Samia Suluhu Hassan, deserves praise for preserving peace, which continues to define Tanzania globally as a stable and welcoming nation. Because of this peace, Tanzania has remained a safe haven for many who have lost security elsewhere,” Khalifa said.

He noted that under President Samia, peace has not only been maintained but strengthened through bold decisions, inclusive governance and a willingness to listen to citizens’ concerns.

Khalifa described the Head of State as a courageous and trustworthy leader whose leadership style has earned her the title of “Mother of the Nation”, saying her resilience and calm approach have ensured continued harmony across the country.

“She is a brave President and a leader Tanzanians can rely on. Through her determination and compassion, peace has continued to prevail, creating an environment where development can thrive,” he added.

He further stressed that young people, in particular, owe a great deal to President Samia for the priority she has given them in government structures and national planning.

According to Khalifa, the establishment of a dedicated ministry responsible for youth affairs marks a historic shift in governance, making President Samia the first leader since independence to place youth issues under a fully fledged ministry within the President’s Office.

“This is a clear sign that she cares for and loves the youth. By creating a special ministry, she has ensured that young people’s challenges are addressed comprehensively and at the highest level of decision-making,” he said.

He added that the move has expanded opportunities for youth participation in leadership, employment and economic empowerment, while strengthening coordination of youth-focused initiatives nationwide.

As President Samia’s second term gains momentum, many Tanzanians say her emphasis on peace, inclusion and responsive leadership continues to inspire confidence in the country’s future trajectory.
