TRA rolls out IDRAS training for Dar es Salaam tax consultants

By The Respondents Reporter

The Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) has stepped up preparations for the full rollout of its new Integrated Domestic Revenue Administration System (IDRAS) by organizing a three-day training programme for tax consultants and audit firms based in Dar es Salaam.

In a public notice issued on January 14, 2026, TRA said the training will take place from January 15 to 17, 2026, at the Mlimani City Conference Center on Sam Nujoma Road, starting at 8:30 a.m. daily.

TRA explained that it is in the final stages of completing the development of IDRAS, a modern digital platform designed to transform domestic revenue administration.

Once fully operational, the system will allow taxpayers to access tax services independently, anytime and from anywhere, using their Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN).

The new system is expected to replace all existing domestic tax management platforms. It will integrate key services such as taxpayer registration, filing of returns, tax payments, objections and appeals, refunds, tax reliefs and exemptions, as well as the registration and management of Electronic Fiscal Devices (EFDs).

IDRAS will also support applications for tax clearance certificates and various licenses.

According to TRA, the training programme is part of broader efforts to build public understanding and stakeholder capacity ahead of the system’s nationwide implementation.

The Authority has already conducted virtual training sessions between late December 2025 and early January 2026, with recorded sessions available on the TRA YouTube channel for reference.

The Dar es Salaam sessions have been customized for tax consultants and audit firms, who play a critical role in supporting taxpayers to comply with tax obligations.

TRA said similar training programmes for other stakeholder groups across the country will be announced through official communication channels.

The Authority has encouraged taxpayers and stakeholders to actively follow the training sessions, noting that adequate preparation and capacity building are key to ensuring a smooth transition to the new system.

For more information, the public has been advised to contact nearby TRA offices or use the toll-free numbers 0800 750 075 and 0800 780 078. Further inquiries can also be made via WhatsApp on 0744 23 33 33 or by email through services@tra.go.tz and huduma@tra.go.tz.

TRA reaffirmed its commitment to improving efficiency and service delivery in tax administration, in line with its guiding motto, “Together We Build Our Nation.”
