The Tanzania Investment and Special Economic Zones Authority (TISEZA) is intensifying efforts to promote domestic investment, urging Tanzanians to actively participate in economic growth and challenging the perception that investment opportunities are reserved for foreigners.
The initiative was highlighted during a Domestic Investment Forum held at the Geita Regional Commissioner’s Office, attended by regional leaders, local investors, and community members.
The event’s guest of honor, Regional Commissioner Martin Shigela, commended TISEZA for bringing investment awareness directly to the region.
He encouraged citizens to take advantage of the opportunities available, register their projects with the authority, and benefit from both tax and non-tax incentives designed to support local investors.
Dr. Aziz Ponary Mlima, Chairman of TISEZA’s Board, said Geita is rich in investment potential and emphasized that now is the perfect time for citizens to engage fully in investment activities.
He highlighted that active participation would not only boost the local economy but also create employment opportunities for Tanzanians.
During the forum, TISEZA officially launched the Domestic Investment Promotion Desk, which will bring services closer to local investors, improve access to key business and investment information, facilitate resolution of investor challenges, and support efficient land allocation for investment projects. The initiative sends a clear message: investment is for Tanzanians, and the time to take action is now.
The forum served as a vital platform to educate residents of Geita on domestic investment opportunities and their role in driving national economic development.
By providing guidance, support, and resources through initiatives like the Domestic Investment Promotion Desk, TISEZA continues to empower Tanzanians to harness the region’s investment potential and contribute meaningfully to the country’s prosperity.
