The Tanzania National Parks Authority (TANAPA), in partnership with the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) and the Zanzibar Commission for Tourism (ZCT), has taken its tourism promotion drive to Zanzibar’s iconic Forodhani Gardens, using the occasion to market Tanzania’s key attractions and investment opportunities.
The initiative, conducted on January 11, 2026, targeted both local and international visitors in one of Zanzibar’s busiest tourism hotspots.
Forodhani Gardens is renowned for drawing large numbers of tourists from across the world, making it an ideal platform to showcase Tanzania’s diverse tourism offerings.
The promotional exercise coincided with the arrival of the luxury cruise ship M/S Azamara, which docked in Zanzibar from Mauritania carrying 668 tourists and 368 crew members.
The presence of such a significant number of international visitors provided TANAPA and its partners with a rare opportunity to engage directly with potential tourists and investors, highlighting wildlife tourism, conservation efforts and available investment prospects.
As the host destination, the Zanzibar Commission for Tourism worked closely with TANAPA and TTB to ensure the seamless promotion of tourism products, with a special focus on Tanzania’s national parks and the unique experiences they offer.
In addition to the Forodhani outreach, TANAPA is participating in the ongoing 12th Zanzibar International Trade Fair (ZITF) at the Dimani–Fumba grounds, where it is exhibiting tourism products and disseminating information on investment opportunities within protected areas.
The promotional campaign will culminate later tonight during the celebrations of the Zanzibar Revolution Day, when TANAPA will leverage the spectacular “Fash Fash” fireworks display scheduled for 6:00 pm as a creative branding tool to further market Tanzania’s tourism attractions and reinforce the country’s position as a leading destination for leisure and investment.
