Simba SC collected maximum points after defeating Mashujaa 2–0 in an NBC Tanzania Premier League match played on Thursday evening at Major General Isamuhyo Stadium in Dar es Salaam.
The match began at a high tempo, with both sides showing attacking intent while maintaining disciplined defending in the opening stages. For the first 26 minutes, neither team managed to break the deadlock despite several attempts on goal.
Simba took the lead in the 27th minute through Libasse Gueye, who finished confidently to give the visitors an early advantage. The goal boosted Simba’s momentum as they continued to press forward in search of a second.
In the 41st minute, Simba were awarded a penalty after sustained pressure in Mashujaa’s penalty area. Denis Kibu stepped up to take the spot-kick, but the Mashujaa goalkeeper produced an impressive save, deflecting the ball onto the post and keeping his side in the contest.
Mashujaa tried to respond by increasing their attacking efforts, but Simba’s defense remained compact and well-organized. The first half ended with Simba holding a narrow 1–0 lead.
The second half saw Mashujaa return with renewed determination as they pushed forward in search of an equalizer.
However, their attempts to create clear scoring chances were effectively neutralized by Simba’s backline.
Simba sealed the victory in the 75th minute when Suleiman Mwalimu found the back of the net, scoring the second goal that effectively ended Mashujaa’s hopes of a comeback.
After 90 minutes of competitive play, the referee blew the final whistle with Simba emerging victorious by two goals to nil, securing three crucial league points.
