President Samia’s projects create opportunities for youth in Lualaje Ward

The Ward Councilor of Lualaje, Lekson Mwakasuluka, has pledged to leverage the construction sector as a source of employment for local youth.

Speaking on the 100th-day achievements of President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, Mwakasuluka noted that the ward is experiencing rapid development due to ongoing social and housing projects initiated under the President’s leadership.

He explained that the growing construction activities are increasing demand for building materials such as cement blocks, as well as skilled labor for bricklaying, electrical installations, and related tasks—all of which require young workers.

“I will ensure that youth benefit from municipal loans to take advantage of these opportunities created by the development projects spearheaded by President Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan. With health, education, and market infrastructure under construction, the demand for skilled youth is significant,” he said.

The councilor also announced that Lualaje Ward has received TZS 30 million to complete the construction of a health dispensary in the Mpembe hamlet of Lualaje Village.

“The community began building the dispensary on their own, but after seeing their efforts, the President quickly allocated funds to complete the project. Once procurement procedures are finalized, construction will resume,” Mwakasuluka added.

Lualaje Ward has a population of 11,828, according to the 2022 Population and Housing Census, and is located 128 km from the Chunya district headquarters.
