PMO delivers humanitarian aid to flood victims in Kilosa

The Prime Minister’s Office (Policy, Parliament, Coordination and Persons with Disabilities), through its Disaster Management Department, has delivered humanitarian relief supplies to residents affected by floods in Tindiga Ward, Kilosa District, Morogoro Region.

The handover was conducted on January 2, 2026, at the Kilosa District Commissioner’s Office, where the assistance was officially received by Kilosa District Commissioner Shaka Hamdu Shaka on behalf of the flood victims.


The consignment was handed over by the Deputy Permanent Secretary in the Prime Minister’s Office, Dr James Kilabuko, accompanied by the Director of the Disaster Management Department, Brigadier General Hosea Ndagala. Members of the District Security and Safety Committee were also present during the exercise.

The relief package includes 90 mattresses, 90 mosquito nets, 90 blankets, five tents and 90 buckets. In addition, the government provided food supplies consisting of 7.2 tonnes of maize flour, 2.1 tonnes of beans, 360 litres of cooking oil, 300 kilograms of salt and 600 kilograms of sugar.


Speaking during the handover, Dr Kilabuko said the government continues to prioritise the welfare of citizens affected by natural disasters, noting that timely intervention is essential in easing hardships and supporting recovery efforts.

Receiving the aid, Mr Shaka expressed appreciation to the Prime Minister’s Office for the swift response, saying the assistance would help address immediate needs of the affected families. 

He assured that the relief items would be distributed fairly and transparently to ensure they reach the intended beneficiaries.
