Paris has once again become the epicenter of global style, as the Haute Couture Spring 2026 Fashion Week continues spectacularly, bringing together young, boundary-pushing designers from across Africa, Europe, and beyond.

Hold its sparks from January 23 through January 29, the festival spotlighted emerging talents from Madagascar, Ukraine, Russia, and other regions, creating a vibrant crossroads of cultures, craftsmanship, and contemporary vision.

Among the show's openers with a commanding presence was Miriam Odemba, whose one-of-a-kind opening walk set the tone for a week defined by confidence, diversity, and innovation.

The main runway presentations continue, featuring legendary couture houses and designers including Christian Dior, Schiaparelli, Julie de Libran, Georges Hobeika, Rahul Mishra, and Cameroonian couturier Imane Ayissi.

“I have supported Victorine Muller from Strasbourg, France,” Odemba shared, “and truly, this show brought together experienced designers and rising talents with extraordinary potential. I hope to work with many of them in the near future.”

Beyond the runway, Odemba continues to expand her influence as the founder of Sauti ya Mitindo, a platform dedicated to showcasing African fashion, design, and boutique brands to the global market.

The initiative held its most recent edition in Dar es Salaam last year and is now drawing international attention.

“Being here has connected me with young talents who are also interested in Tanzania,” she said. “I hope the next Sauti ya Mitindo will reflect this international interaction, uplifting East African fashion and design through global collaboration.”

With decades of international experience and long-standing ties to Paris, Odemba remains a powerful bridge between continents.

“Emerging designers today are active, mobile, and globally minded,” she added. “Many respect my work, and several have expressed interest in coming to Tanzania for my show. We believe the next edition will be truly big.”

As Haute Couture 2026 closes, Paris leaves not only with new silhouettes but with a renewed sense of fashion as a global conversation, led by voices including Miriam, who is shaping the future from runway to continent.
