The Deputy Commissioner for Customs at the Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA), Mr. Wahabi Matengo, has commended PUMA Energy Tanzania for maintaining high-quality petroleum products and for its consistent compliance with tax obligations, describing the company as a reliable partner in national development.
Mr. Matengo made the remarks on December 24, 2025, during a courtesy visit to PUMA Energy Tanzania offices in Dar es Salaam.
He led a delegation from the Office of the Commissioner for Customs, noting that PUMA’s commitment to quality standards and timely tax payment has significantly contributed to government revenue collection and the stability of the energy sector.
During the visit, Mr. Matengo also presented seasonal gifts to PUMA Energy management as a gesture of appreciation for the company’s strong cooperation with TRA and its broader contribution to government efforts, particularly as the country approaches the end-of-year festive season.
He emphasized that such partnerships between the private sector and revenue authorities are vital in strengthening trust, improving compliance, and supporting Tanzania’s economic growth.
On her part, PUMA Energy Tanzania Chief Executive Officer, Ms. Fatma Abdallah, expressed gratitude to TRA for its continued support and close engagement with the company.
She said the regular consultations and open communication with TRA have played a key role in enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring compliance with tax and customs regulations.
Ms. Abdallah reaffirmed PUMA Energy’s commitment to sustaining the partnership with TRA, adding that the company remains dedicated to supporting government initiatives while delivering quality energy products to Tanzanians.
