The Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) has earned praise for providing reliable weather information that directly helps Tanzanians stay safe, plan their activities, and make informed decisions in daily life.

Deputy Minister of Transport, David Kihenzile (MP), acknowledged TMA’s contribution during the 18th Transport Sector Performance Assessment General Meeting at the Arusha International Conference Centre (AICC), held from 15th to 17th December 2025.

He noted that TMA’s timely forecasts have not only improved safety across roads, railways, and maritime transport but have also given citizens confidence to prepare for changing weather conditions.

“TMA’s accurate information is essential for Tanzanians. It helps people plan their travel, protect their property, and respond effectively to weather changes,” Kihenzile said, emphasizing the Authority’s role in supporting both public safety and economic activities.

The three-day meeting gathered key transport sector stakeholders to review performance, share experiences, and explore strategies for better service delivery.

TMA’s work was highlighted as a cornerstone for protecting lives, ensuring efficiency, and earning public trust across the country.
