Minister of Home Affairs, George Simbachawene, has praised Tanzanians for their patriotism and calm demeanor in protecting the nation’s peace as the country celebrates 64 years of Mainland Tanzania’s independence.
The Minister made the remarks on Monday during an inspection of security arrangements across several neighborhoods in Dar es Salaam.
He highlighted the continued efforts by security agencies to maintain safety nationwide and acknowledged the role of citizens in supporting these measures.
“This celebration is a testament to our collective responsibility,” Minister Simbachawene said. “The people of Tanzania have shown that peace and unity are values we must all protect.”
Residents expressed satisfaction with the security measures, noting that the presence of law enforcement has reassured them and allowed them to observe the anniversary in safety.
Many emphasized their commitment to maintaining harmony, saying it is every citizen’s duty to safeguard the country’s hard-earned stability.
As Tanzania marks this milestone, the Minister called on all citizens to continue practicing vigilance, unity, and mutual respect, underscoring that the country’s stability depends on both government actions and the responsible conduct of its people.
