A United States lawmaker has expressed renewed interest in Tanzania, highlighting growing international confidence in the country as Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation Minister Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo (MP) continues his official visit to the US.
During talks in Washington, Ambassador Kombo met Dr Ronny L. Jackson, a Member of the US House of Representatives and a member of the Africa Subcommittee, where discussions centred on strengthening cooperation and expanding engagement between Tanzania and the United States.
Dr Jackson said he had previously visited Tanzania and was impressed by its stability, natural beauty and hospitality.
He noted that he is considering leading a delegation of fellow US legislators to visit Tanzania in 2026, following an invitation extended by Ambassador Kombo.
The planned visit would offer an opportunity for American lawmakers to gain first-hand insight into Tanzania’s development priorities and investment potential, while further strengthening parliamentary and diplomatic ties between the two countries.
Ambassador Kombo has continued to attract positive reception from US leaders and stakeholders during his ongoing working visit, underscoring Tanzania’s growing profile and its commitment to building strong, mutually beneficial international partnerships.
