Tanzania Judo Association to hold General Elections on January 17 in Dar es Salaam

The Tanzania Judo Association (JATA) is set to hold its General Elections on January 17, 2026, in Dar es Salaam, marking a key moment for leadership transition within the federation.

Charles Maguzu, speaking on behalf of the Public Relations and Communications Officer of the National Sports Council of Tanzania (NSC), confirmed that the vetting process for all candidates will take place on January 16, a day before the elections.

Maguzu emphasized that the election process is open to all eligible stakeholders who meet the required criteria to contest various leadership positions.

“The doors are open to all stakeholders who meet the qualifications and requirements to seek nomination for leadership positions within the federation,” he said.

The key positions up for election include President, Vice President, Secretary General, Assistant Secretary General, and Treasurer, each requiring a nomination fee of TZS100,000.

Other positions include Director of Marketing, Director of Technical Affairs, Director of Referees, Director of Coaches, and Director of Welfare, Education and Volunteering, with a nomination fee of TZS50,000 for each.

Maguzu added that nomination forms are already available, and the submission period will close on January 14, 2026.
