Tanzania’s national football team, Taifa Stars, have stepped up their preparations in Morocco as they fine-tune their readiness for a demanding opening fixture against African football giants Nigeria at the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
The team has been holding intensive daily training sessions aimed at strengthening technical execution, improving tactical discipline and building squad cohesion, while also sharpening physical fitness levels.
The technical bench has been using the training camp to adjust strategies and simulate match situations tailored to the style and experience of their first opponents.
In the final phase of their build-up, Taifa Stars are set to travel to the city of Fes, approximately 202 kilometres from Rabat, where they will conduct their last training sessions.
The move will allow the players to familiarise themselves with the stadium and adapt to the local conditions ahead of the high-stakes encounter.
The Group match between Tanzania and Nigeria is scheduled for December 23, 2025, in Fes.
Taifa Stars will be aiming for a positive start to their AFCON 2025 campaign as they face one of the continent’s most seasoned teams, in a match expected to test their preparation, resilience and ambition on Africa’s biggest football stage.
