The Member of Parliament for Same East Constituency through the Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), Anne Kilango, has called on young people in the constituency to turn out in large numbers for a public rally scheduled to take place today, 22 December 2025, at the Ndungu Bus Stand grounds, following the visit of the Minister for Youth Development, Joel Nanauka.
Speaking ahead of the event, Kilango commended the President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan, for recognizing the importance of establishing the Ministry of Youth Development, noting that the ministry will play a significant role in addressing challenges, achievements, and concerns facing young people across the country.
Kilango stated that young people constitute the largest population group in Tanzania, accounting for approximately 64 percent of the total population.
This, she said, underscores the importance of mobilizing youth in Same East to give them an opportunity to listen to their minister and actively participate in discussions that directly affect them.
She added that the speech to be delivered by the Minister for Youth Development will not only focus on youth in Same East but will have a national outlook, presenting policies, plans, and various opportunities aimed at economically and socially empowering young people.
The MP urged youth to seize the opportunity to present their challenges, share views, and offer recommendations that will help the government improve youth development policies and programs, emphasizing that their participation is a key foundation for sustainable national development.
