Simba Queens delivered a composed and authoritative performance to claim a vital 2–0 victory over arch-rivals Yanga Princess in a Tanzania Women’s Premier League derby played at the Azam Complex in Chamazi, Dar es Salaam.

The much-anticipated encounter lived up to its billing, with both sides showing intensity and determination.

Simba Queens, however, were sharper in possession and more purposeful going forward, applying sustained pressure from the early stages of the match.

Their dominance was rewarded in the 36th minute when Jentrick Shikaangwa broke the deadlock, expertly converting a well-timed pass inside the penalty area to put Simba Queens ahead.

The goal gave them control of the game, and they maintained their advantage until the halftime break.

The second half resumed at a high tempo, with Yanga Princess attempting to respond. Simba Queens remained organized and disciplined, particularly in defense, while continuing to pose a threat on the counterattack.

In the 69th minute, Aisha Juma extended the lead, calmly finishing after capitalizing on a defensive lapse to make it 2–0.

Yanga Princess intensified their attacks in the closing stages as they searched for a consolation goal, but Simba Queens’ backline stood firm, effectively neutralizing every attempt.

The final whistle sealed a convincing 2–0 win for Simba Queens, a result that not only earns them valuable points but also boosts their morale as the Tanzania Women’s Premier League race gathers momentum.
