Youth in Simanjiro District, Manyara Region, have been urged to take full advantage of a TZS 200 billion loan fund launched by President Samia Suluhu Hassan to boost economic opportunities for young people.
Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, James Ole Millya, who is also the Member of Parliament for Simanjiro Constituency, said the fund is part of the first 100 days of President Samia’s sixth-term administration.
He encouraged local youth to prepare strong project proposals and apply for the loans to start or expand their businesses.
“There is TZS 200 billion available during the first 100 days of President Samia’s government. Young people of Simanjiro, this is your chance to improve your lives and create jobs,” Ole Millya said during a visit to Komolo Ward.
He emphasized that the fund is open to youth across Tanzania and urged residents to act quickly to benefit from it.
“No one can build your future for you. Take the initiative and seize this opportunity. We thank President Samia for remembering the youth,” he added.
Ole Millya also reminded the youth that every ministry is working to ensure public funds reach citizens and encouraged them to actively compete for these loans.
He shared his personal journey as an inspiration, noting that coming from an ordinary pastoralist family in Simanjiro, he now serves as a Deputy Minister thanks to opportunities provided by the government.
“This is proof that with determination and the right support, our youth can achieve great things,” Ole Millya said.
