The Minister of State in the Prime Minister’s Office (Labour, Employment and Relations), Deus Sangu, has urged institutions under his docket to design and execute strategic plans that clearly reflect Tanzania’s Vision 2050 priorities, saying the next phase of national development demands disciplined planning and measurable results.
He said the sixth-phase government is determined to build an economy that is competitive, opportunity-rich and powered by a highly skilled workforce.
For that to happen, he emphasized, every institution must understand its role in turning the long-term vision into practical progress for citizens.
“The government expects each institution to contribute meaningfully to a productive and knowledge-driven economy. Vision 2050 is our roadmap it tells us where we want to go and how to get there,” he told directors during a meeting in Dar es Salaam, his first since being appointed by President Samia Suluhu Hassan.
Sangu noted that Vision 2050 outlines Tanzania’s aspirations for sustainable development, improved service delivery and stronger national capacity to compete globally.
He urged institutions to prioritise efficiency, accountability and innovation in all their programmes.
Deputy Minister Rahma Kisuo reinforced the message, calling on institutions to intensify public education so that citizens clearly understand the services, responsibilities and opportunities available through the ministry’s agencies.
Directors attending the meeting pledged full cooperation, promising to speed up implementation of key projects and strengthen programmes that build a capable workforce and support a resilient national economy.
They said aligning with Vision 2050 will help ensure that the benefits of development reach more Tanzanians in the years ahead.
