President Samia receives credentials from five new envoys

President Samia Suluhu Hassan today received Letters of Credence from five newly accredited envoys at Chamwino State House, marking a renewed commitment to strengthen Tanzania’s diplomatic and development partnerships.

The diplomats presented included representatives from Angola, the Netherlands, Iran, the Slovak Republic, and Namibia. 

During the ceremony, President Samia underscored Tanzania’s dedication to fostering relations built on mutual respect, shared development priorities, and historical ties. 

She highlighted opportunities to enhance trade and investment, particularly in agriculture, agro-processing, energy, and water sectors, while also stressing coordinated cooperation in health, education, technology, tourism, the blue economy, and regional integration.


President Samia emphasized that Tanzania continues to provide a safe and predictable environment for citizens, investors, and businesses, with robust safeguards for people and property. 

In the education sector, she encouraged deeper collaboration with nations possessing strong technological and vocational expertise, promoting initiatives that equip young people with practical skills for self-employment and increased productivity.

She also commended the ongoing contributions of these countries to Tanzania’s development agenda and encouraged engagement aligned with the nation’s Vision 2050 and the Foreign Policy (2024), which prioritizes economic diplomacy and strategic partnerships.

Tanzania maintains 39 embassies and high commissions worldwide, enjoying long-standing cooperation with the newly represented countries. 


Partnerships with Angola focus on trade, energy, minerals, livestock, and tourism, while ties with the Netherlands center on agriculture, health, education, fisheries, water, and investment. 

Engagement with Iran covers trade, energy, technology, agriculture, health, and education. 

Collaboration with the Slovak Republic emphasizes renewable energy, digital innovation, manufacturing, cybersecurity, education, and tourism, highlighted by the opening of Slovakia’s first resident embassy in Tanzania. 

Relations with Namibia span trade, energy, blue economy, minerals, livestock, and tourism, leveraging Namibia’s oil and gas sector for joint capacity building and future energy cooperation.

Shaaban Kissu, Deputy Director of Presidential Communications at State House, affirmed Tanzania’s openness to strategic global engagement and its commitment to strengthening bilateral cooperation.
