President Samia leads nation in mourning for late MP Jenista Mhagama

The nation today bid farewell to Jenista Joakim Mhagama, Member of Parliament for Peramiho Constituency, in a solemn ceremony led by President of the United Republic of Tanzania, Dr. Samia Suluhu Hassan. 

The service took place at Maria-Theresa Ledochowska Parish in Ndege, under the Dodoma Catholic Diocese, bringing together family members, government officials, parliamentarians, and residents from across the country.

President Samia described the late MP as a courageous and dedicated leader whose life was a source of inspiration to colleagues in both Parliament and government. 


“ Mlagama served the nation with integrity, fear of God, and an unwavering commitment to justice, development, and equality,” she said, paying tribute to her exceptional leadership.

The Head of State highlighted Mhagama’s remarkable contributions to government operations and her active role within the ruling Chama cha Mapinduzi (CCM) party. 

She also praised the late MP for mentoring young leaders and instilling in them a strong sense of responsibility.

Reflecting on her enduring legacy, President Samia urged current and future leaders to emulate Mlagama’s values of accountability, patriotism, and service to the people.


“Her dedication to national service and the welfare of citizens will remain a guiding example for leaders at all levels,” she added.

The President extended heartfelt condolences to the family, relatives, and the residents of Peramiho Constituency, praying for divine comfort and the eternal rest of Mhagama’s soul.
