The Member of Parliament for Mtambile Constituency, Said Ibrahim Mzimba, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving the welfare of residents after handing over water storage tanks to Jaani Shehia, a move expected to address a chronic water shortage that has affected the area for years.

The intervention is anticipated to significantly improve access to clean and safe water, easing daily hardships faced by households and contributing to better health and living conditions for the community.

During the ceremony, Mzimba also donated a range of community-use equipment intended to support social functions such as weddings and other communal events.

The items are expected to strengthen social cohesion while reducing costs for residents when organising community activities.

Speaking at the event, the MP said the government, in collaboration with constituency leadership, is determined to provide lasting solutions to key challenges affecting citizens.

He emphasised that access to water is a fundamental right and a cornerstone of social and economic development.

Mzimba noted that the water tanks will enhance water storage and distribution in Jaani, helping residents cope more effectively with shortages and improving overall community welfare.

Residents welcomed the support with appreciation, describing it as a long-awaited response to a persistent problem.

They said water scarcity had for years disrupted daily life, but the latest initiative has renewed hope.

“Our MP has listened to our concerns and acted decisively. This support shows leadership that is close to the people,” said one resident.

The event was attended by the Mtambile Constituency chairperson, the constituency secretary, shehia leaders and residents.

Local leaders praised the cooperation between the MP and the community, pledging to ensure the donated items are properly managed for the benefit of all.

The initiative has further strengthened public confidence in local leadership and underscored ongoing efforts to translate development commitments into tangible improvements in the lives of Mtambile residents.
