Tanzania has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening diplomatic and economic ties with the Sultanate of Oman following high-level talks held during an official engagement in Muscat.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and East African Cooperation, Ambassador Mahmoud Thabit Kombo, delivered a special message from President Samia Suluhu Hassan to His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq Al Said, underscoring the importance Tanzania attaches to its long-standing relationship with Oman.

In their discussions, Ambassador Kombo and Sultan Haitham reviewed the state of bilateral cooperation and explored ways to further enhance collaboration in priority areas, including trade and investment, economic cooperation, diplomacy and people-to-people relations.

The talks also highlighted opportunities for expanding partnerships that support sustainable development and shared prosperity.

Both sides acknowledged the deep historical and cultural ties between Tanzania and Oman and expressed a shared desire to translate these ties into stronger economic and social benefits for their citizens.

They agreed on the need to maintain regular high-level engagements to advance mutual interests and open new avenues for cooperation.
