Government investments transform lives in Chanika

By The Respondents Reporter

Residents of Chanika Ward in Temeke District, Dar es Salaam, have hailed President Samia Suluhu Hassan for transformative improvements in health, education, and infrastructure in their area.

They are now calling on parents to register their children for the 2026 school term to ensure they benefit from the government’s investments.

For years, locals faced the challenge of transporting the bodies of deceased loved ones to Kisarawe District due to the absence of mortuary facilities in Chanika at Nguvukazi Hospital.

This situation has now been resolved, easing the burden on families during difficult times.

Ms. Jaliah Kabeya, a Chanika resident, said the ward currently faces no major challenges in education and healthcare.

She also praised the improvement of internal roads, including the resolution of persistent flooding along Tazara Road, which previously disrupted transportation and daily life.

“We thank God and Mama Samia for these developments. We pray she continues to improve what remains, because she cannot do everything at once. What she has achieved so far deserves our gratitude,” Ms. Jaliah said.

Residents also welcomed the management of the 10 percent council loan scheme for women, youth, and people with disabilities.

Many credited the program with helping communities overcome poverty, noting that the loan process is simple and accessible.

The progress in Chanika reflects the government’s broader commitment to improving social services and infrastructure nationwide, ensuring that citizens benefit directly from national development efforts.
