The Ministry of Constitutional and Legal Affairs has received a boost in digital capacity following the handover of new Information and Communication Technology (ICT) equipment by the Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Ms Angellah Jasmine Mbelwa Kairuki (MP).

The handover ceremony took place on Monday at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology offices in Mtumba, Dodoma, marking a key step in modernising public service delivery through digital transformation.

Speaking at the event, Ms Kairuki said the equipment will strengthen digital systems within the ministry and its institutions, enhancing efficiency, transparency, and speed in the execution of daily duties.

She highlighted that ICT adoption has already transformed service delivery in courts and tribunals, allowing cases to be handled more quickly and effectively.

The minister noted that under the leadership of President Samia Suluhu Hassan, the government continues to invest in ICT infrastructure, ensuring ministries and public institutions use technology effectively to improve operational performance.

She emphasized that digital reforms are designed not only to upgrade technology but also to enhance administrative processes, accountability, and service delivery.

Providing context, the Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Mr Mohammed Khamis Abdulla, explained that the support is part of the Digital Tanzania Project.

The project focuses on developing and integrating ICT systems, strengthening connectivity, providing training, and equipping institutions with modern digital tools.

The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Constitutional and Legal Affairs, Mr Eliakim Maswi, expressed gratitude for the support, describing it as a major boost for implementing digital systems such as e-Justice, e-Registry, and electronic records management.

He said the new equipment will accelerate operational efficiency and improve service delivery across the ministry and its institutions.

A total of 70 laptop computers and two heavy-duty printers were handed over, strengthening the ministry’s capacity to implement digital systems and improve overall institutional performance.
