Deputy Minister of Health, Dr. Florence Samizi, has called on health workers to strengthen solidarity, cooperation, and accountability in the performance of their daily duties.
Speaking during a special meeting with officials from the Department of Preventive Services on December 30, 2025, at the Ministry of Health offices in Dar es Salaam, Dr. Samizi emphasized the critical role of preventive health services in safeguarding the nation’s health.
“The Department of Preventive Services is a key pillar of the health sector, focusing on preventing diseases before they occur. Your collaboration and accountability form the foundation for success in these efforts,” she said.
Dr. Samizi urged staff to continue improving work systems, strengthen the use of accurate data, and ensure timely reporting to enable the Ministry to take early action against public health challenges.
Officials from the Department of Preventive Services noted that collaboration between different units and programs has enhanced the efficiency of preventive activities nationwide.
The meeting reviewed progress and challenges in implementing vaccination programs, disease outbreak surveillance, management of neglected conditions, environmental health, and public health emergency preparedness and response.
